• Welcome to Online-Exam, the Moodle-platform for digital assessments at RUB.

      Information for students

      Log into Online-Exam

If you have a RUB-LoginID, please log into Online-Exam with your RUB-LoginID and your password.

Students of TU Dortmund or Universität Duisburg-Essen use the UA-RUHR-Login.

If you don't have a RUB-LoginID and need a user account on Online-Exam please send an e-mail from your university e-mail address to: e-assessment@rub.de. Please include your name, surname, matriculation number and the university you are enrolled at in this e-mail.

How to access your digital exam

Examiners enrol their students into their exam courses. Students can't enrol themselves into an exam course! As a student, you must have an active user account on Online-Exam, when your examiner enrols you into your exam course. Without an active user account your examiners can’t enrol you into your examination course and you will not be able to access your digital examination on Online-Exam!

If you don't have access to an exam course despite having registered for the digital exam, please contact your examiners.

How to request a digital exam

Digital exams at RUB must take place on Online-Exam and not on RUB-Moodle (Learning-Management-System).

The eAssessment-Team at RUB organises the timeslots and resources for digital exams. Please, use this form to request a digital exam:

After you have sent your request via the online form, we will check it and contact you within three work days.

If you want to conduct a digital exam on campus and we don't have the room or personnel capacity during your requested timeslot, we will contact you to agree on an alternative date and time for your exam. The same goes for remote online exam requests, which would exceed the server capacity limits.

We are eager to offer you a digital exam timeslot that is feasible for everyone involved.

If you want to check whether there are digital exams planned for a specific timeslot, already, please open the Calendar for digital exams

How to enrol students in your digital exam

As an examiner, you enrol your students in your exam course. The course enrolment can be done with a list of matriculation numbers or e-mail addresses of your students, for example. We have prepared a tutorial for you in the linked video (on YouTube):

To enrol your students in your exam course, it is a mandatory requirement, that the students have activated their user account on Online-Exam with their first login. Self-enrolment into exam courses by students is deactivated on Online-Exam by default due to security reasons.

Our advice: Notify your students in advance that they must have logged into Online-Exam at least once until a certain deadline in order to activate their user account. Enrol your students into your exam course after that deadline.
